CAM ROLLERS
Cam rollers are non-separable radial bearings. They are special variants of either radial deep groove ball bearings or double row angular contact ball bearings. Cam rollers are ball bearings equipped with outer rings in thick wall that allows the cam rollers to withstand radial loads, reducing, at the same time, deformations and bending stresses. Cam rollers run either directly on a guide track or against a surface that has been machined for a guidance.
The actual contact area depends on the shape of the outer ring surface ( even or convex ) and on the load. As cam rollers often run misaligned they are generally used with crowned outer ring surfaces.
In the standard version, the external rotation surface is convex, this is an advantage for applications in which it can verify the angular misalignment relative to the track, or where it needs to minimize the stresses to the edges. Except those at single row, cam rollers are also available with external cylindrical rotation surfaces.
Cam rollers are special variants of both deep groove ball bearings and double row angular contact ball bearings. Cam rollers normally run outside the machine compartment, under extreme operating conditions, in the presence of heavy contaminations ( for example dust , dirt, and so go on ). For this reason, cam rollers are produced and fitted with contacting seals. Some types of the double row cam rollers are also available with shields.
These cam rollers are used in different field, such as :
-
conveyors belts
-
drives cam
-
systems of conveyors
Cam rollers are divided in two categories :
-
single row cam rollers
-
double row cam rollers
